Kathy Slack
Kathy is an award-winning food writer, supper club host and cookery teacher who grows her own ingredients from her kitchen garden in the Cotswolds.
Kathy’s life in food began after 12 years as a brand strategist for London
advertising agencies where the fun had been had and the rat race was taking its
toll. Kathy quit and started her blog, Gluts & Gluttony, about the gluts she was growing on her allotment and the ensuing gluttony in the kitchen. She retrained as a cook and worked at Daylesford organic farm in Kingham, Gloucestershire, for 3 years before going full time on G&G. As well as hosting a monthly supper club featuring ingredients from her veg patch, she teaches cookery classes at home and at Borough Market in London as well as River Cottage, Big Feastival, Wilderness Festival, Taste of London, St Ives Food Festival and others. She writes a monthly recipe colum in Borough Market’s Market Life magazine and for publications like Delicious, The Independent, Simple Things,. In 2019 she was awarded the Young British Foodie award for vegetables and names the Soil Association BOOM Awards Best Blogger. She was also shortlisted in the Guild of Food Writer’s Awards for Best Social Media. All her food celebrates seasonal, homegrown ingredients – no foams, frills or frippery, just beautiful, simple food that Kathy has nurtured from plot to plate.
